Century Gardens is more than just a rental building — it’s the first completed phase in a visionary new neighbourhood that is reshaping how Edmontonians live, work and move. Developed as part of the larger Century Park community, this project demonstrates modern urban design, transit-oriented planning and innovative construction techniques.

A Purpose-Built Community Starter

Located in South Edmonton, Century Gardens is a seven-storey, purpose-built rental residence comprising 278 units with underground parking. Completed in mid-2023, it sets the tone for future phases of Century Park - a mixed-use master-planned community that will eventually add thousands of residential units, amenities and retail space.

The building is distinguished by its use of precast concrete construction, a method chosen for its efficiency, durability and performance. Eagle Builders, acting as both designer and general contractor, managed every stage from fabrication to installation, ensuring quality and speed without compromising design or budget parameters.

Century Gardens showcases several noteworthy construction features:

  • Precast load-bearing hollowcore panels - offering thermal and sound insulation as well as fire resistance.
  • Off-site utility solutions - since the lot initially lacked services, the precast producer oversaw the installation of power, gas and access roads internally to keep the project on schedule.
  • Quick turnaround - the building was completed in about 16 months, underscoring the benefits of the precaster’s design-build approach. 
    By employing precast techniques and streamlined planning, this project aligns well with industry trends toward faster, more cost-effective multi-family developments without sacrificing performance.

Beyond the Building: The Century Park Vision

Century Gardens isn’t just an isolated apartment - it’s Phase 1 of a much larger community being delivered by K&H Developments in partnership with CP Eagle Projects and other stakeholders.

Century Park aims to be Southwest Edmonton’s foremost transit-oriented development, directly adjacent to the LRT station and designed around a mix of residential, retail and open spaces. The broader community will offer:

  • Over 4,000 rental units and more than 4,300 parking stalls.
  • Highly walkable streets and excellent transit access, with strong walk, transit and bike scores reflecting a connected urban lifestyle.
  • Parks, schools and services nearby, reinforcing a balanced live-work-play environment. 

What began with Century Gardens in 2023 has now set the foundation for Century Gardens Phase 2 - a larger 293-unit building currently under construction — and future phases that will build out the mix of housing types and community amenities.
